About
AFP Legacy was set up to perpetuate the memory of AFP officers killed in the line of duty and to support the families of AFP employees who die in service to their community. AFP Legacy provides support to ‘legatees’, who are the spouse or child of a deceased AFP employee, and we raise funds for related charitable purposes.
Assistance provided by AFP Legacy includes bereavement payments, and funding towards scholarships, education, extracurricular activities, community participation, birthday and Christmas cards.
AFP Legacy arranges many functions each year. Some of these functions are police legatee specific to bring widows, widowers and children together to share experiences and foster support and relationships. Other functions, such as the AFP Legacy Gala Ball are organised to raise the much needed funds that sustain the charity. Find out more about events.
As a not-for-profit organisation, AFP Legacy receives no government funding and relies on the generosity of donors, sponsorship and fundraising. Find out more about how you can support AFP Legacy.
