Just 10 weeks out from the start of the epic Route 66 Police Legacy fundraising event, the support keeps rolling in; this time from Canberra-based Capital Chemist who have contributed a first aid kit for each of the 39 participants.
Community Program Manager for Capital Chemist, Melita Flynn, said they were delighted to support the Route 66 ride from Chicago to Los Angeles.
“Capital Chemists love supporting good causes and the work that AFP Legacy does to support the families of AFP members is really immeasurable,” Melita said.
“We wish everyone on this amazing journey a safe and enjoyable adventure. We really hope the only items needed from these first aid kits will be the sun screen and lip balm.”
The generous donation is valued at $1000, meaning more money from the ride can go directly to Police Legacy.
“We cannot thank Capital Chemist Southlands enough for their generous donation of first aid kits,” said AFP Legacy Secretary, Christine Fishwick.
“The support that local businesses like Capital Chemist provide us is invaluable and enables us to continue with the core business of supporting Legatee families,” Christine added.
The Route 66 riders depart on 9 August for the adventure of a lifetime and hope to raise $80,000 for AFP Legacy.
